Summer, the second of the four seasons, is the hottest season in a year in the northern hemisphere. China is used to taking long summer as the beginning of summer, and the summer in meteorology will be postponed to about 25 days after long summer. The ancients regarded April, May and June of the lunar calendar as "summer", while today people regard June, July and August of the Gregorian calendar as "summer", while westerners generally call summer solstice and autumn as summer.
