Serpentine perennial. Stems numerous, arising from a rhizome, up to 60 cm tall, basally creeping rooting, simple or branched, 4-angled, shallowly sulcate, often tinged purple-red, very densely covered with white spreading bristles, sparser proximally, with elongated internodes, much longer than the leaf blade.
From seed to harvest 3 months, sown around the beginning of winter in mid-June harvest, spring sowing in mid-July harvest, summer sowing in mid-September harvest.
