Mustard is a variety of mustard, a cruciferous plant, which originated in China and is a unique vegetable crop in China. In Sichuan and Chongqing, it is commonly known as Ercai, also known as Joule, Bud, Bao Er and Nanchong.
The short stems and axillary buds of mustard are edible, rich in water content, crisp and refreshing, with the unique fragrance of cruciferous plants, mostly fresh.
Biological characteristics of Ercai;
Two vegetables have strong growth potential, the total number of leaves is about 30, and axillary buds overlap on the stem in a pagoda shape. Seeds can germinate at 8~ 10℃, and the optimum germination temperature is 22~25℃.
The seedling stage is 60~70 days, and the optimum growth temperature is about 20℃. The expansion period of fleshy stems is about 120 days, and the occurrence and expansion of fleshy lateral buds takes about 1 10 days.
Expansion requires strict temperature. After sowing in autumn, when the temperature dropped to about 65438 07℃, the succulent stems began to swell. When the ten-day average temperature drops to about 15℃, the lateral buds on succulent stems begin to germinate and swell, and the optimum temperature for axillary buds to swell is 10~ 15℃.
