Purple-skinned egg is a kind of lilac-skinned egg produced by Beijing Fatty Chicken.
The eggs laid by Beijing Fatty Chicken have brown eggshells, and some individuals have pale purple eggshells, which are known as "purple-preserved eggs". The surface of eggshells is covered with a light white plastic protective film (commonly known as "white frost"), which is particularly fresh in color. The strength of eggshell is 3.13kg/cm. The eggshell thickness is .325mm and the egg shape index is 1.32. The Haas unit of fresh eggs is 85.4. All the indexes of egg quality have reached a high level and are deeply loved by the masses.
The sexual maturity of Beijing Fatty Chicken is late. Under natural light conditions, the cock crows at the age of 2-3 months, and after 6 months, the semen quality gradually becomes normal. The hen started to give birth at the age of 7 months, with a starting weight of 16g g. Under the condition of rural stocking, the annual egg production of each hen is about 11, and when the feeding conditions are good, it can reach 125. The average egg weight is 56g. The annual total weight of eggs laid by each hen is about 7kg.
Why eggs have different colors
In fact, when eggs are formed in the early stage, they are all white. Later, hens secrete some pigments, such as brown protoporphyrin, which are deposited on eggshells and have different colors. Some eggshells have a high content of brown protoporphyrin, so the color of eggshells is darker, and vice versa. Moreover, the variety, age and feed types of chickens will also affect the content of brown protoporphyrin, resulting in different eggshell colors.
Generally speaking, the eggs laid by the same chicken are all the same color. However, if the hen is sick, or the hen is too old, the color of the eggshell will become lighter. Sometimes the hen lays eggs too often, and the color of the eggshell will become lighter.
