↑ Yokosuga, a Japanese seaport city, has no sense of existence compared with super popular tourist cities such as Kyoto and Tokyo. Especially for domestic tourists, whether traveling in a group or independently, it is not a popular tourist destination.
However, as long as people have a certain understanding of the history of the navy, especially the history of the Japanese navy, they will certainly know the important position of this city in the history of naval development. 1853, American prefect Perry led a "black ship" to land here, knocking on Japan, an island country closed for hundreds of years. By 1865, French engineer Lyons Verne built the Yokosuga Iron Works here, enabling the Japanese at that time to build new warships. After the defeat, it became the anchorage of the seventh fleet of the United States, witnessing the rise and fall of Japan's sea power for a hundred years.
1883, Yokosuga, one of the four garrison houses, witnessed the whole process of the Japanese navy from scratch, to the third place in the world, dominating Asia, and finally disappearing like a cherry blossom because of its belligerence. Today, Yokosuga is still an important base of the US Seventh Fleet and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, and it is also one of the largest military ports in East Asia.
As a puppet army station that knows a little about IJN, Yokosuga naturally attracts me. 2065438+July 2009, I just finished the college entrance examination and started a trip to Japan with a friend named Z, and I also set aside a day in my plan to visit Yokosuga. However, a friend named Z thinks that the handiwork of SEGA building is more attractive to him than warships, so this one-day tour of Yokosuga guard room has become my own trip (sad).
Take a look at JR Yokosuka Station. The oncoming scene is very impactful for every military enthusiast.
But I don't have much time. I must do it quickly. After taking a few random photos in the harbor, we arrived at the first planned stop-Verne Park.
Verny Park, as its name implies, is named after Verny, a French engineer who built the Yokosuga Iron Works here. His great contribution soon enabled Yokosuga to build new warships. With the development of Japanese navy, Yokosuga shipyard has gradually become the main production base of Japanese warships. (Friends who play with ship models, especially those who make IJN ship models, the most skilled and commonly used paint must be Yokosuka Naval Factory Ash. )
The most famous collection in this park is the remains of the battleship Lu Ao. At that time, one of the "Big Seven" (seven battleships equipped with 16 inch /4 10mm naval guns in the world after World War I) was born in Yokosuga Shipyard. The ship exploded and sank at 1943 Zhudao berth, and the reason is unknown. The wreckage after the war was salvaged and exhibited all over Japan.
Write another angle to see the battleship "Lu Ao" on the 4 10mm main gun. This gun was originally located in the Museum of Ship Science in Tokyo, and was sent back to Yokosuga, the birthplace of Lu Ao, for exhibition in 16. It's really huge up close. The 4 10mm gun is still like this. I wonder how shocking the Yamato class 460mm main gun will be?
↑ The large metal model "Lu Ao" in the exhibition hall next door.
In fact, Verny Park is a seaside park with pleasant scenery along the way, which is very suitable for rest. There are also several warships monuments in the park. The Japanese like to erect monuments to their sunken warships in memory of the dead sailors.
Wrote the warship Nagato Monument. Sure enough, after the first modernization, Nagato's image in the Japanese people's mind still stays in the curved chimney.
Wrote warship "mountain city" monument. The ship was sunk by American forces in the night battle in surigao in 1944. More than 900 people were killed in1944, and no one survived.
The warship rushed to the island monument. This ship was built by IJN during World War II. It was sunk by a submarine at 1942 (I appeared a little).
The shape of this monument is really straight, but it is not a Kaohsiung-class monument.
Facing the scorching sun on the Pacific coast, walk down the road and turn a corner at the entrance of Mi Naval Base, which is Sancha Park, where the memorial ship Sancha is located.
↑ Battleship "Li III". 1899 was built by Britain, and it was the last main ship completed in Japan's "66 Fleet" plan at that time. After the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895, in order to cope with the military expansion of the Russian Empire in the Far East, Japan carried out a series of arms expansion led by the "66 Fleet" (six battleships and six armored cruisers) plan. At that time, Britain and Japan concluded a "Japan-Britain alliance" to curb Russia's expansion in the Far East, so the planned warships were basically built by British shipyards. Sanri was built on the basis of the British dreadnought. When it was completed, it was the most advanced main ship in the world, with two 305 mm main guns and a large number of small-caliber auxiliary guns, as well as excellent electrical systems and communication equipment.
In fact, the budget of the Japanese navy at that time was not enough to buy a ship, and it was the "father of the Japanese navy." At that time, Yamamoto Gonnohyō e, then Minister of the Navy, used his life as a guarantee to misappropriate public funds to make up for the construction cost of the ship. It can be seen that this "66 Fleet" plan has really done its best for Japan. After the Russo-Japanese War broke out, the "Three Days" was the flagship of the Japanese joint fleet, and the commander of the joint fleet, Tougou Heihachirou, personally sat on the ship.
On the 3rd, the joint fleet annihilated the Russian first Pacific fleet stationed in Lushun in several naval battles, and then met the Baltic fleet from half a world away in Ma Haixia. Thanks to Dongxiang's tactics of "turning back before the enemy" and the harsh training of the Japanese navy before the war, the joint fleet wiped out the Baltic Fleet with minimal losses, and the extremely wide battle loss ratio between Japan and Russia also made the "naval battle against Malaysia" a classic battle in the history of naval warfare. After the war, as a meritorious warship, the No.3 was made into a memorial ship and has been preserved to this day. It is one of the "three great commemorative ships in the world", which is as famous as the American Constitution and the British victory.
Statue of Tougou Heihachirou, Commander of the Joint Fleet. In addition, there are many exhibits beside the boarding ramp for tourists to watch.
Japan is full of main artillery shells of the battleship Yamato. The picture shows the 9 1 type armor-piercing projectile.
Write some relics of beiyang fleet. 1894- 1895 In the Sino-Japanese War of 1895, the "Zhenyuan" that Beiyang Navy was proud of was captured by the Japanese navy and incorporated into the ship's registry. And participated in many naval battles in the Russo-Japanese War as a second-class battleship of the Third Fleet. As a native of China, it really hurts me to see these relics of beiyang fleet displayed in the Japanese military port as trophies of the Japanese army.
Subsequently, the author boarded the "Li San" battleship to visit.

This metal plate records the battles the ship took part in.
↑ Compared with the Russian artillery shells, the summer gunpowder commonly used by the Japanese navy at that time was very unstable, which made the fuze of the artillery shells extremely sensitive and explosive. It is said that the head of the shell will touch the cable and trigger the fuse. In the naval battle against Malaysia, IJN generally used this kind of high-explosive bomb to smash the superstructure of the opposing capital ship, causing a large number of casualties. However, this unstable shell also led to Sanri's later self-explosion accident.
The upper deck shows that although the ship has gone through a hundred years, its maintenance condition is acceptable.

The performance of the 36-type communication machine equipped by the Japanese navy during the Mahai War was acceptable. It was this device that first discovered the enemy ship's camouflage cruiser "Nobukuro Maru" and sent out the message that "the enemy fleet was found at location 203".
= gunner's six-inch (152mm) auxiliary gun and hammock.
↑ Armored control tower and ship handling equipment inside. Even though the control tower of "Li San" was protected by heavy armor, it was still punctured by shrapnel in the naval battle against Malaysia, causing injuries to the staff inside.
↑ "Li San" open-air bridge. In the naval battle with Ma, Governor Dongxiang and his main staff stood here to direct the battle. Also in the command of the open-air bridge, Dongxiang was only slightly injured, but in the Yellow Sea naval battle, the opposite Russian navy was directly hit by the bridge, and all the fleet commanders died on the spot.
Write your position, respectively, is the chief of staff Kato Tomosaburo, captain Ichijiro, joint fleet commander Tougou Heihachirou and operational staff akiyama Shinji. It's really exciting to stand here and recall the scene of the naval battle at that time.
The deck was almost seen, so the author got off the boat through the gangway to visit. Because the ship is of pure British descent, the interior decoration is very luxurious.

Later, there were a large number of exhibits and documents related to the Ma naval battle in the ship, which made the puppet army museum feast its eyes.
↑ Akiyama Paul's famous telegram: "Today the weather is sunny and the waves are high."
Write this famous saying was said by Tougou Heihachirou when he mobilized the Japanese fleet before the Mahai naval battle. Although it was obviously copied from Nelson, the British navy general, the phrase "England spends its money and does its duty" (England expects everyone to do their duty to mobilize the British fleet before the battle of Trafalgar), it has become the soul of IJN together with the "Z-flag".
A group photo of the main officers on the Sancha ship after the war. Sure enough, Akiyama's aides are all ingenious, different and in different directions.
The judo suit of Takeo Hiroseto, the "military god" of the navy. In fact, he has achieved nothing. During the war, he was the captain of the Asahi warship. During the blockade operation, Lushun volunteered to lead the team and was killed by a shell when he was evacuated. The battle plan that killed him was conceived by his good friend Paul Akiyama.
Write Akiyama Paul's original "seven-stage battle" method. This operational concept has a far-reaching impact on the Japanese navy, and the "reduced invitation attack" operation during the Pacific War is its replica.
The recruitment advertisement for the self-defense forces on board is really a long story. It seems that the abandoned house in Heisei (now it is peaceful) really lives up to its reputation.
Because of the time, I couldn't stay on the ship for too long, so I had to leave early. Finally, I took some photos of the whole ship and left with regret.

↑ Gongzheng. I don't know why the chrysanthemum was changed to silver. Is it because of the change of the year number?
The following is my feeling: When I was in senior three, I was called by a friend named X to watch the Japanese drama Cloud on Sakamoto. After reading it, I was deeply moved by the Meiji spirit of Akiyama Brothers and Masaoka Shiki's optimistic efforts, which inspired me to make progress in the final stage of senior three. Akiyama, the protagonist in the play, made the battle plan of the Baltic Fleet on this ship and participated in the whole naval battle with the ship. It's really touching to recall the plot of the TV series and the hardships when preparing for the exam while visiting. I think it's also very happy that you can board this warship in person.
Yokosuga is the base of the US Seventh Fleet and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. Moreover, the cruise ship in the military port allows me to get close to these warships that I usually only see on domestic news, which can be said to be very attractive. As mentioned above, I don't have enough time to visit for three days, because I have booked a flight at one o'clock at the reception desk of Jungang cruise ship before going for three days.
I don't know if it's because of the American military station. The receptionist in the office has good English, and I can communicate normally without Japanese.
The ship is responsible for explaining a lovely female maritime self-defense officer, and most of the people on board are Japanese Xiao Mu III (uncle). I found that I forgot to bring my telephoto lens when I got on the boat (sad). Generally speaking, the route is around my wife's island in the middle of Yokosuka port, about an hour. There were so many warships along the way that my shutter never stopped.

However, the situation on the Korean peninsula was tense at that time, and it was common to dispatch aircraft carriers. Here is a photo of a friend named T.

When it comes to local cuisine in Yokosuga, Navy Curry is a must. Navy curry originally originated in Britain, and the Japanese navy copied the British model at an early age, so even the tradition of eating curry moved here. From the Meiji period to the current Maritime Self-Defense Force, the canteen of warships will provide curry every Friday, in order to give officers and men who have been sailing for a long time a sense of time. This time I studied Uncle Goro in The Lonely Gourmet, and walked into a restaurant without reading any online recommendation. The restaurant offers two kinds of navy curries, one is Meiji style and the other is Haizi style. I chose the sea from the wind.
The taste is ok, the mouth is sweet, typical Japanese curry.
There is also a Japanese-style "University Fleet" role card with seiyuu signature in the store. I also like this work.
Finally, I bought two packages of so-called "Navy" curry as handwritten letters in a nearby store. I went back and tasted it, and it felt ordinary. I like Southeast Asian curry with coconut milk flavor and stronger spice flavor very much.
After eating curry, today's plan is completed. In order to avoid the terrible night rush in Tokyo, I didn't choose to continue wandering around the city, but took JR back to my hotel in Shinjuku.
Wrote an empty JR
Generally speaking, I'm glad you came to Yokosuga this time, which can be said to be the most unforgettable experience of my trip to Japan. As an island country, Japan has a strong maritime plot. From the surfing in Kanagawa and Gexibei houses to the "400" of the Joint Fleet, the Japanese once conquered the ocean and won the wild hope of Asia, which can be seen in the port city of Yokosuga.
Goodbye, Yokosuga.
