Jinli was once one of the oldest and most commercial streets in the history of western Shu. As early as the Qin and Han Dynasties and the Three Kingdoms period, it was famous all over the country.
Today, the ancient street of Jinli embodies the essence of life in Chengdu: there are tea houses, inns, restaurants, bars, stage, snacks, handicrafts and local products, which fully show the unique charm of the three kingdoms culture and Sichuan folk customs.
The second phase of Jinli was also opened to welcome guests before the Spring Festival in 2009. Jinli is completely grassroots, local and homely. The shops sell chopsticks, tea, lanterns, silk quilts and local products. The food in the restaurant, the three cannons and the pork intestines powder, are all directed at the taste, not fancy, without gimmicks, but pay attention to the benefits. There are also craftsmen's toys, such as squeezing a clay figurine, turning into a tanghua, and buying a paper-cut, all of which contain childlike interest. Nostalgia is also a nostalgia for the simple happiness of childhood. The citizens ate melon seeds and played cards in the bar, drank foreign wine and spoke soft Chengdu dialect.
At present, Jinli Ancient Street covers an area of more than 30,000 square meters, with a building area of140 million square meters, and the total length of the street is 550 meters. It is known as the "Riverside Scene on Qingming Festival in Chengdu", with the folk houses in western Sichuan as the coat, the culture of the Three Kingdoms and the folk customs in Chengdu as the connotation, integrating tourism, shopping, leisure and entertainment.
Jinli has many specialties of nearby suburban counties that are hard to buy in Chengdu. Zhang Fei beef, produced in Langzhong, Sichuan, is black in appearance, not good-looking, but beef in nature. It is made of fine beef mixed with special spices and has a unique taste. Tangma cake, produced in Chongzhou, Sichuan. In addition, there are snacks such as Jiujiu duck neck, beef bean curd, three-in-one mud, candied fruit, peeing beef balls, stinky tofu, camellia oleifera, beef coke cakes, hot and sour pork intestines powder, buckwheat noodles, and alms chicken.
Generally speaking, the snacks in Jinli Street are authentic, varied, unique and affordable. Don't forget to taste it when you come to Jinli (friendly reminder: partners who don't usually eat spicy food should be careful not to get angry).
It's true that it's famous in the Han and Tang Dynasties.
