Shanxi Coking Coal Xishan Coal and Electricity Group Company Malan Mine is located in the country's largest coking coal base in Shanxi Province, 15km southwest of the city of Gujiao, China's Sixth Five-Year Plan, Seventh Five-Year Plan during the construction of the state-owned large-scale focus on coal mines, is a new type of modernized mines, belonging to the Shanxi Coking Coal Xishan Coal and Electricity Group Company. The mine is located in the east wing of Lvliang Mountain, on the bank of Fen River, 69 kilometers away from Taiyuan City.
The construction of Malan Mine started in November 1983, and the mine was officially put into production in June 1990, with a designed annual production capacity of 4 million tons. In October 1993, the coal processing plant supporting the mine was put into operation. Malan Mine covers an area of 104.4 square kilometers, with a surveyed recoverable reserve of 812 million tons at the end of 2005, which can still be served for 145 years. The main product is fat coal after washing and processing, which is sold to more than 30 domestic iron and steel mills and exported to Japan, South Korea, India and other international markets.
