Psidium guajava kernel is the dried seeds of Juniperus communis or bilateral Juniperus communis of the Cucurbitaceae family, and is made by digging out the seeds of Psidium guajava and washing and drying them in the sun in the fall after Psidium guajava has matured. Piper betel is the dried mature fruit skin of Juniperus communis or Juniperus bilaterals, family Cucurbitaceae. After picking the mature fruit and dissecting it in fall, the pith and seeds are removed and dried in the sun to make the product.
