Chaoshan specialty snacks include: Chaozhou Spring Cake, Wujingfu Ginger Candy, Cotton Lake Melon Cake, Brown Sugar Navel Cake, Xiancheng Bunch of Sand, Puning Qiaozhu Pomelo Peel Cake, Raoping Mountain Jujube Cake, Longjiang Green Bean Paste Cake, Chaoshan Jiuzhu Chenpi, and Chaoshan Curd Cake, etc. The main three cities in Chaoshan are Shantou City, Chaozhou City, and Jieyang City. Chaoshan mainly refers to the "three cities of Chaozhou", namely Shantou, Chaozhou and Jieyang.
Chaoshan was called "Chaozhou" for nearly 2,000 years before the name "Chaoshan" appeared after 1904.
