Kidney deficiency can be divided into kidney yang deficiency and kidney yin deficiency in clinic. For patients with kidney-yang deficiency, they can usually eat mutton, vegetables, loach, sesame, dried ginger and fennel. Patients with kidney-yin deficiency can usually eat yam, black rice, black beans, hash film, black fungus, black sesame, small walnut, medlar, cordyceps sinensis, Eucommia ulmoides, Polygonum Multiflori Radix, sea cucumber and so on for food supplement. On the basis of syndrome differentiation and overall adjustment, Chinese medicine treats kidney deficiency by tonifying kidney and strengthening yang, replenishing essence and nourishing yin, and tonifying kidney and promoting diuresis.
Kidney deficiency refers to the deficiency of kidney yin and yang due to congenital deficiency, or deficiency of essence in childhood, or deficiency of essence in old age, or immoral sexual life, or long-term illness of other organs and kidneys, which is often manifested as kidney yang deficiency, kidney yin deficiency, kidney essence deficiency and kidney qi instability. The main manifestations of kidney deficiency are: soreness or pain in the waist and knees, tinnitus and deafness, tooth shaking and alopecia, impotence and nocturnal emission, oligospermia and infertility, amenorrhea and edema, shortness of breath, dyspnea and abnormal defecation.
