Pinyin name Zǐ Shu

Alias Indus, Huang Jinshu, Cowpea Tree, Tung Tree, Catalpa Fruit and Catalpa White Skin.

It comes from catalpa, a catalpa plant in Compositae, whose fruit, bark and root bark are used as medicine. Picking fruits in autumn when they are ripe, drying in the shade or drying in the sun; In winter and spring, you can peel off the bark and root bark, remove the rough outer skin and dry it.

Sexual taste

Fruit (catalpa): sweet in taste and flat in nature.

Skin (catalpa white skin): bitter, cold.

Functional indication

Fruit: diuretic and detumescence. Used for edema, chronic nephritis, cystitis and ascites due to liver cirrhosis.

Skin: diuresis to eliminate dampness and kill insects. Externally used to treat eczema, skin itching and children's head sore.
