After the baby was born, I became extremely nervous whenever he made any trouble, let alone when he coughed, which was simply unsettling. Coughing in children is particularly easy to quickly turn into pneumonia or bronchitis. Either way is painful for the child, the feeling of having phlegm that cannot be coughed up, the feeling of spitting out all the phlegm just after eating, and the feeling of wanting to suffer on the child's behalf. Who knows who is the mother really. Whenever I go to the hospital and see some children receiving nebulizers and slings for coughing, I feel that the children are really suffering.
However, when people eat whole grains, they will inevitably have minor illnesses and pains. What should you do when your child coughs? Here are a few effective methods that I have tried for your reference.
External therapy
Method of applying garlic slices to Yongquan point to relieve cough:
Method: Slice the garlic into slices about one yuan thick and stick it on Yongquan point with a band-aid. fixed. Apply for 15-30 minutes until the local skin becomes rosy. Do not leave it on overnight as this may cause blisters.
Personal experience: One night, my child had a severe cough in the middle of the night. He would wake up and cry when he coughed. I got up in the middle of the night and applied garlic slices to the child. After applying it, he no longer coughed. I feel that this method is better. Suitable for initial stage.
Massage
Methods: Tonify the spleen (push back and forth on the first section of the outside of the big toe) for 500 times, Bagua (make circles with the palm of your hand facing backwards) for 500 times, and tonify the kidney (with the little finger) Push palm inward).
Personal experience: Mainly, the Bagua of adverse luck has the effect of resolving phlegm. Tonifying the spleen and kidneys uses the relationship between yin and yang and the five elements, which can make the Bagua of adverse luck better. (Method derived from: Grandma Chen’s pediatric massage)
Diet therapy
Sugar tofu:
Method: Slice the tofu and place it layer by layer, each Sprinkle a layer of sugar over it, close the bowl and steam for 20 minutes. Mainly drink steamed water. Use brown sugar for cold cough and white sugar for hot cough. Can't tell the difference between cold and heat, half and half red and white sugar. There are no side effects. The key is to use gypsum tofu. Works well with early coughs. (The prescription comes from: acupuncturist Zhang Baoxun)
Personal experience: I often use this method when I have a cough, but it is not very effective for my children.
Steamed pears:
Cough due to wind-heat (yellow phlegm and nasal discharge) Stewed pears with Sichuan clams:
Method: Cut a pear in half and scoop out Remove the pear core, add one gram of Sichuan clam powder, steam for 25 minutes, and eat another one the next day.
Pear stewed with pepper for cold cough (clearing nose):
Method: Same as above, except that the center is replaced with pepper, 25 on the left and 25 on the right.
Personal experience: When my child coughed for the first time, I used this method. After taking it for two days, he stopped coughing. It worked.
Okay, the above are the prescriptions I have used for children’s cough. What I want to say is that everyone’s constitution is different. Maybe the prescription that works for me will not be of any use to you. Another point that needs to be emphasized is that these methods are more suitable for the early stage of cough, and they are used under the premise that the doctor has diagnosed that there is no major lung problem, because my philosophy is to not take medicine if you can, because taking Medications often have side effects, and are not conducive to children's ability to develop their own immunity. However, if your baby coughs for a long time, you still need to go to the hospital to find a doctor for diagnosis and prescribe appropriate medicine. Hope it helps the baby.
