The Hainan satellite launch base is called China Wenchang Spaceport.
China Wenchang Space Launch Complex, is one of China's space launch sites. Located in Longlou Town, Wenchang City, Hainan Province, China, China's Wenchang Space Launch Complex, under the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, is China's first open coastal space launch base, and one of the world's few low-latitude launch sites.
The launch site is capable of launching Long March V series rockets, Long March VII carrier rockets and Long March VIII carrier rockets, and is mainly responsible for launching spacecraft such as geosynchronous orbiting satellites, large mass polar orbiting satellites, large-tonnage space stations and deep space exploration satellites.
As a low-latitude coastal launch base, the Wenchang spaceport can not only be used to meet the new needs of China's aerospace development, but also take advantage of the greater linear velocity near the equator and the centrifugal phenomenon brought about by inertia, which greatly reduces the fuel consumption of rockets (the capacity of the same type of rockets can be increased by 10%), and can also be used to solve the problem of transporting giant rockets by sea and improve the safety of the crash of wreckage.
Building Layout of Wenchang Spaceport:
The vertical assembly and testing plant for the Long March 5 launch vehicle (CZ-5) and the vertical assembly and testing plant for the Long March 7 launch vehicle (CZ-7) at the Wenchang Spaceport are code-named No. 501 and No. 502 at the launch site. The main building of the No. 501 plant, facing the sea, is 101 meters high, the highest single-story plant in China, and a giant steel door, 81 meters high, is the highest in Asia.
In order to match the launch of two sets of rockets of different diameters, the Wenchang launch site at the same time to build two launch pylons, but the two launch towers *** with a section of the transfer of rockets on the guide rail. Compared with the 1.5-kilometer distance from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center's measurement and assembly plant to the launch pylons, the Wenchang launch site has expanded to 2.8 kilometers.
The 91-meter-high launch tower for the Long March 5 (CZ-5) is guarded by four 120-meter-high lightning towers like "nannies". Under the tower is a 24-meter-deep deflector channel, which is used to deflect the huge heat generated by the rocket launch.
