The source is the seed or fruit of Physalis alkekengi of Solanaceae. Autumn harvest.

The seed of chemical composition contains oil18.6%, including saturated housing acid1.1%,linoleic acid 20.8%, oleic acid 64.4% and unsaponifiable matter (stigmasterol, sitosterol) 0.83%.

Sexual taste

1 Guizhou Herbs: Seeds: slightly sweet and flat.

2 "Yunnan Chinese Herbal Medicine": Fruit: sour, flat and little toxic.

Functional indication

1 Guizhou herbs: seeds: heat-clearing annealing, diuresis.

2 "Yunnan Chinese Herbal Medicine": Fruit: expelling wind and diminishing inflammation. Treat rheumatoid arthritis, sore and carbuncle.

Administration and dosage: decoction,1~ 3 RMB. External use: grinding and dressing.

Attached prescription

1 Treatment of fever: San Qian with fake sour pulp, simmered with water.

2. Treatment of stomach heat: San Qian for fake sour pulp and verbena, and water-cooled clothes.
