In April 1951, he participated in the People's Volunteer Army's campaign against the Korean invasion, and served as a clerk in the reconnaissance team of the 141st Division of the 47th Army of the People's Volunteer Army.

On January 2, 1952, Luo Shengjiao bravely sacrificed his life to rescue a North Korean child, Choi Ying, who had fallen into the water at Seokjeon-ri, Sungcheon-gun, South Pyongan Province. After Luo Shengjiao's death, the North Korean government built a monument and tomb for him and awarded Luo Shengjiao the Order of the First Class Warrior's Medal of Honor and the Order of the First Class National Flag, and the Political Department of the Volunteer Army conferred on Luo Shengjiao the title of "Chinese People's Volunteer Army's Model for Loving the People."

5, Yang Gensi
