introduction of lotus root
lotus root is an overgrown underground stem of lotus root, which can be eaten. Lotus root is mainly cultivated in marshland, and it is rich in China and Hubei, and belongs to one of the Eight Immortals of Water.
The cultivated species of lotus root can be divided into three categories: lotus root, lotus seed and Hualien, among which Hualien belongs to aquatic flowers, lotus root and lotus seed belong to aquatic vegetables, and lotus root can be divided into shallow water lotus and deep-water lotus according to the depth of cultivation water level.
The petiole and pedicel of lotus root are thin and crisp, while the leaves are wide, which are easy to be broken by wind, leading to underground stem rot. In production, deep water is often poured temporarily before strong wind comes to stabilize the plants and reduce the harm of strong wind to lotus root plants.
