Scallops of normal size are put in after the water is boiled and steamed for about 5 minutes. If the scallop is relatively large or the steamer is relatively small, it needs to be steamed for a while, but at most it should not exceed 10 minute.
Scallops need to be soaked in salt for about two hours in advance, brushed with a brush for about 2 to 3 times, and then steamed in the pot. When scallops are steamed, vermicelli, eggs and garlic can be added.
How to deal with scallops
1 After buying scallops, firstly, wash the sediment on the shells with clear water.
2. pry open the scallop with a knife and stick it to the bottom of the shell to completely remove the shellfish.
3. Use a knife to remove the internal organs of shellfish, that is, things that look black. Then put the shellfish into a clean bowl, add a little salt, soak it in salt water for two or three minutes, and stir it clockwise with chopsticks, so that the sediment on the surface of the shellfish can sink to the bottom of the bowl.
4. Take out the shellfish and pour out the water in the bowl. Put a proper amount of raw flour in the bowl, then put the shellfish into the bowl and gently rub it with your hands, so that the raw flour will completely take away the residual sediment in the shellfish. Finally, wash it with clear water again, and the shellfish will be completely washed.
5. If you want to use shells as a base, you should thoroughly brush the sand on the shells with a fine brush or toothbrush. So the scallops are completely clean.
