Bottom fish. Living in the lower reaches of rivers, he is good at swimming. Snail-eating spiders and small fish and shrimp. The common meat weighing 0.5kg is tender and delicious, and it is the first-class fish in the south. Distributed in the Pearl River system.

The small distribution area of this species, coupled with human overfishing, the living environment deteriorated and the resources declined seriously. It has been listed as a fish with important economic value in Hainan Province, and was first identified as a provincial protected species together with Chinese horseshoe crab (Hü u) in 2002.
