Although there are cultivars of golden cauliflower introduced from abroad in China, such as Cirele.valley, Serena, etc., the widely grown ones are still selected and bred in different parts of China, such as local varieties of Gu Shan, Yuyao, and Wenling. These varieties were developed through long-term cultivation throughout the Yangtze River Basin. According to tests conducted by the Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Gu Shan local variety has the highest fresh grass yield, followed by the Dapanshan variety. In recent years, Wenling and Yuyao local varieties are mainly cultivated in Zhejiang; Gu Shan and Dongtai local varieties are mainly cultivated in Jiangsu. These local varieties can be divided into large-leafed and small-leafed types according to their traits.
Comparison of the traits of the local varieties of cauliflower

Larger leaf blades, slightly lighter leaf color, thicker and longer stems, pods with larger discs, slightly more discs, pods with hard spines and pointed, more upright growth, suitable for late sowing, such as Gu Shan, Wenling and other varieties.
2. Leaflet type
Leaves slightly smaller, darker leaf color, strong branching force, shorter stem branches, growth is more creeping, pod disk is slightly smaller, drought and cold resistance, such as Nanjing local varieties.
