According to legend, Du Fu, a great poet in the Tang Dynasty, accidentally ate the "spicy rabbit diced" that was still hot at that time, and he liked its taste. He wanted to take some with him on the road and enjoy it slowly, so the local people took off more water with high heat when making it for storage.
Later, when the poet ate it, he found that this "spicy diced rabbit" was more delicious and more flavorful when eaten cold than when eaten hot. This dish spread from then on, and later it was named "cold rabbit". Therefore, "cold rabbit" can also be eaten hot, but the cold taste is more delicious and more comfortable.
