How to remove formaldehyde after renovation of new houses?
Excessive formaldehyde is a matter of great concern to many newly renovated residents. Public information shows that:

The formaldehyde concentration reaches 0.08~0.09mg/m per cubic meter of air? Children will have mild asthma; Reach 0.6mg/m? , can cause throat discomfort or pain in adults. When the concentration is high, it will cause nausea and vomiting, cough and chest tightness, asthma and even pulmonary edema; Reach 30mg/m? When, will immediately lead to death.

Therefore, for the sake of our health, it is urgent to remove formaldehyde. So today we will talk about how to remove formaldehyde quickly and effectively.

1./ How to remove formaldehyde quickly and effectively? Sumitomo people have their own tricks.

I believe everyone has heard of some "indigenous methods" to eliminate formaldehyde: for example, the older generation will put some orange peels or grapefruit peels at home, which they think can adsorb formaldehyde; Otherwise, put a lot of green plants at home to purify the air. But these methods are actually proved by experiments and have no effect on eliminating formaldehyde. So, what auxiliary methods can eliminate formaldehyde more quickly and effectively?

The topic we started earlier was "What else can you do, in addition to formaldehyde?" On the live APP. "Many Sumitomo shared with us their little coup in in addition to formaldehyde at home, aiming at this problem:

Sumitomo @ Tao Tao chick:

Just after the renovation, I found a formaldehyde treatment company and spent 3000 yuan. After the treatment, a professional formaldehyde company was found for testing. All indicators are normal, and there is no problem of exceeding the standard.

Sumitomo @ElaineZhang:

Four months ago, I went to a testing institution for testing, and the results exceeded the standard by four times ... The testing institution told me that ventilation is the most effective, formaldehyde is soluble in water, and everything that can be washed should be washed. It's been four months since I opened the doors and windows for ventilation on a hot day, and it still smells like decoration. Formaldehyde is ready to be tested again. Before the test, you can buy an industrial blower and put a window to blow it to accelerate air convection.

▲ Industrial fan

If you want to eliminate formaldehyde in the house as soon as possible, you can put a floor fan at home after renovation and open the window for ventilation. This is the most effective and lowest cost method for formaldehyde volatilization as soon as possible. The picture comes from Sumitomo @ 京京京京.

Sumitomo @Kel 13 1:

I bought a photocatalyst, because I sprayed it for a few days, but pay attention to the furniture, especially the wooden furniture. When spraying it, it must be higher and the water sprayed must be thinner, otherwise it will destroy the furniture!

▲ photocatalyst

Photocatalyst is the most widely used method to eliminate formaldehyde at present. This catalyst from Japan can catalyze the reaction and decompose formaldehyde in the air under ultraviolet irradiation. The pictures are from Sumitomo @ All of them.

Sumitomo @ElaineZhang:

The best way is to use a wall-mounted fresh air with a purifier. The whole house uses new air ducts, and the purifier is responsible for local rapid purification. Theoretically, in addition to formaldehyde effect: window ventilation >; Fresh air > purifier > activated carbon bag, green planting and other soil methods. The volatilization period of formaldehyde can be as long as 10 year. Based on the outdoor air quality and the temperature in winter and summer, it is not a sustainable way to just open the window for ventilation.

▲ Fresh air system

I believe everyone knows the working principle of the fresh air system, which is to purify the outdoor air into the room and exhaust the indoor air at the same time. Of course, the discharged air contains air polluted by formaldehyde. This way, like ventilation, is a way to discharge formaldehyde outside the house. Image from Sumitomo @ Bloomberg slash_bo

Sumitomo @ElaineZhang:

I bought a formaldehyde purifier, but I didn't know if it was useful at first. It turns out that the effect is not bad, and there is almost no smell in the room. Bedrooms and study rooms make the most cabinets, and the sponges in these two rooms shrink the most and have become very small. Compared with the larger living room, the sponge in this jar has not shrunk too much. It should still have some effect!

▲ Formaldehyde scavenger (air sponge)

Air sponge is a formaldehyde purifying agent that has emerged in recent two years. It is said that it can adsorb and decompose formaldehyde in the air. Many Sumitomo people use formaldehyde meter to measure the experiment after use, which shows that it can really reduce the formaldehyde content in the air to a certain extent and has obvious effect on eliminating the decoration odor. 2./ How to choose environmentally friendly decoration building materials? See what the professionals say.

Although there are many ways to remove formaldehyde through post-treatment, according to the principle of formaldehyde treatment-in the case of a certain formaldehyde content in a closed space, more than 99% of indoor formaldehyde can be removed through post-treatment. This treatment reacts with formaldehyde to form a relatively stable polymer, but it is difficult to reach the depth of the plate.

In addition, indoor formaldehyde is also the superposition of continuous release and years, so the best in addition to formaldehyde method must be to eliminate formaldehyde from the source. Living well in APP decoration brand user @Jorya Jiuya described in detail how to choose more environmentally friendly decoration building materials and look down together.

1./ plate

From the point of view of using adhesives in the product manufacturing process, the smaller the internal crack of the plate, the more adhesives are used, and the worse the environmental protection. The following is the theoretical ranking of building materials environmental protection according to the internal structure. (Of course, the process is different and the manufacturer's standards are different, so there will be great differences. )

▲ 1

No chemical composition, 0 formaldehyde, the most environmentally friendly plate. However, due to the high requirements of construction technology and limited use places, it is mostly used for wood floors, doors and furniture.

▲ No.2 finger joint plate

Finger joint plate is also a very environmentally friendly plate. There is no need to stick plywood up and down, and the amount of glue used is greatly reduced. The glue used for finger joints is generally white latex, which is non-toxic and tasteless. Even if it is decomposed, it is acetic acid, which is very safe. The environmental protection index is second only to solid wood.

▲ No.3 large core board/joinery board

Stick a layer of veneer on the upper and lower sides of the board core respectively, and stick a batten in the middle. Even the E 1 grade large core board, if the dosage is too large, will cause the overall indoor formaldehyde content to exceed the standard, so even if it meets the standard, it may not be absolutely harmless to the human body.

The quality of large core boards on the market is uneven, so it is recommended to find regular manufacturers to buy them. Compared with the same two kinds of large core board technology, the wood block in the middle is thin and has high glue content, which will be much worse in environmental protection and function.

▲ No.4 plywood

The fiber directions of multi-layer veneers are glued perpendicular to each other, and the amount of glue used is slightly larger than that of large core board. Environmental protection is second only to large core board.

▲ No.5 particleboard

The raw materials of particleboard are completely crushed into particles, that is, the particles in the middle of shavings are coarse and the upper and lower layers are fine, and then glue is added to press them together. There is glue on the surface layer and core layer, so it is difficult to control the release of formaldehyde. Because of its uniform structure and good processing stability, it is widely used in interior decoration.

▲ No.6 density board

Density board is made by completely crushing wood and other raw materials into fibers, and then adding glue to press them. Particles are smaller than particleboard. Because the fiber units can be connected by hydrogen bonds, the bonding strength is compensated. So there is not much difference between the sizing amount and particleboard. Environmental protection is the same as particleboard.

According to the density, it is divided into high, medium and low density boards, which are used to strengthen wood floors, door panels, partitions, furniture and so on. And it is as easy to process as particleboard and has a wide range of uses.

2./ ? coating

Indoor coatings are mainly divided into water-based coatings and solvent-based coatings, and water-based coatings are more environmentally friendly than solvent-based coatings. At present, water-based latex paint is mostly used for interior wall coatings on the market, and water-based wood paint is mostly used for wood furniture.

▲ When buying wall paint, you should not only choose regular products, but also pay attention to the quality inspection report of the products. There are three key environmental indicators of wall paint: VOC, free formaldehyde and heavy metals. The above is the limit value of each compound content.

When buying paint: first, buy regular products in regular channels and check the quality inspection report.

Secondly, pay attention to the outer packaging of waterborne wood paint. Generally, the words water-based or water-soluble will be marked, and the instructions for use will also indicate that it can be diluted directly with water. Fake water-based wood paint can't be diluted with water because of the addition of solvent.

Besides, look at the color of wood paint. Waterborne wood paints can be divided into two categories according to their components: one is light milky white or translucent, and the other is translucent light yellow.

Finally, smell it. Odorless is the most obvious feature of waterborne wood paint. After opening the lid, the smell is very small and there is a little oily smell. Inferior waterborne wood paint has a strong pungent solvent smell, and expired waterborne wood paint has obvious sour taste.

3./ ? wallpaper

Glue is an important factor of wallpaper pollution, so choose wallpaper glue carefully. At present, there are three kinds of common environmentally friendly wallpaper adhesives on the market: starch adhesive, glutinous rice glue adhesive and barreled adhesive.

Starch glue and glutinous rice glue are processed from natural raw materials, which is highly environmentally friendly. But starch glue is a synthetic glue of starch and viscose, and glutinous rice glue is made of glutinous rice, so the adhesion of starch glue is weaker than that of glutinous rice glue. But in glutinous rice glue, it is not easy to mix well at low temperature, and there will be small pimples that will affect the use effect of wallpaper.

The price of barreled glue is generally more expensive, because most of them are imported from Europe and America, and the product quality and environmental protection performance are very reliable. Compared with other wallpaper adhesives, barreled adhesives are more viscous.

4./ ? Decorative textiles

Buy decorative textile products from the following three aspects:

One is to look at the label. When buying textiles with wrinkle-resistant and shrink-resistant properties, we must look at the formaldehyde content on the fabric label. If there is no label or the content exceeds the standard, it is not suitable for purchase.

The second is to choose the color. Don't buy textiles with bright colors and pigment printing. Suitable for buying light-colored textiles, the risk of formaldehyde exceeding the standard will be smaller.

The third is to smell. When you buy textiles, you can open the outer packaging and smell it. If there is a strong pungent smell, there may be too much formaldehyde residue, which is not suitable for purchase.

3./ Don't be fooled by the merchants! Is E0 environmental protection material reliable?

When buying decoration building materials, we often hear merchants introduce their commodity grades as E0, E 1 and so on. In fact, these confused codes are all different limit labels, and the so-called E0 level is the most stringent formaldehyde emission standard. So when you buy building materials, just recognize E0 and everything will be fine?

Not really. We should know that the standards for formaldehyde emission from different products in different countries are different. Sumitomo @NOIDEA has deeply studied the formaldehyde emission standards in different countries and how to stipulate the formaldehyde limit in China at present. Let's take a look at his findings:

Domestic formaldehyde emission standards are formulated with reference to European standards and Japanese standards. At present, there are three levels of formaldehyde emission written into national standards: E0, E 1 and E2. At present, the domestic standards related to formaldehyde emission mainly include the following:

▲ Click to see a larger image. GB 18580 Formaldehyde emission limit in wood-based panels and products for interior decoration materials (200 1 standard)

In the latest version of this standard (GB18580-2017 (implemented in May/8)), the formaldehyde emission is adjusted as follows:

▲ Click to see a larger image. GB 18580-20 17 Formaldehyde emission limit in wood-based panels and products for interior decoration materials (20 18 standard)

Yes, the new standard is only E 1, which specifies the determination method. The limit value of climate box method is 0. 124mg/m3, and the new standard is more and more in line with international standards. ? Since E0 does not appear in GB 18580-200 1 and GB 18580-20 17, in which standards is E0?

▲ Click to see a larger image. GB/T 5849-2006 Blockboard ▲ Click to see a larger image. GB/T 18 102-2007 impregnated paper laminated wood flooring

Impregnated paper laminated wood flooring is what we usually call laminate flooring. In the standard, E0 level appeared in the requirement of formaldehyde emission of laminate flooring, which stipulated E0 ≤ 0.5 mg/L. In the limit value of formaldehyde emission of joinery board, E0 level also appeared.

In other words, E0 in the above two standards has its own boards-laminate flooring and joinery board. Eco-board, solid wood particleboard and other boards claim E0 grade, which is actually only a marketing tool for merchants and brands, and there is no national standard basis.
