On April 9, 20021year, with the approval of the State Council, Hangzhou announced the formal implementation of the optimization and adjustment of some administrative divisions, and took the original administrative areas of Shangcheng District and Jianggan District (excluding Xiasha Street and Baiyang Street) as the new administrative areas of Shangcheng District, and the people's government was located at No.77 Wang Chao Road, Wangjiang Street. The whole region covers an area of 122 square kilometers, governs 14 streets and 199 communities, with a permanent population of13200, including 840,000 registered residents.
