Tunisia (Tunis, Arabic:) is the capital of the North African country Tunisia and the country's largest city and industrial and commercial center. Tunisia is located in the Gulf of Tunis (itself part of the Mediterranean Sea) in northern Tunisia. The city itself is flanked by Lake Tunis and the lagoon to the west. The Tunis Canal runs through the city center and the outer port of Haque Awa into the sea near Halq al Wadi.
