The main methods to quickly reduce fever in adults are physical cooling and drug cooling.
Usually, when adults are quiet in the morning (excluding various physiological factors), the oral temperature is higher than 37.3, the anal temperature is higher than 37.6, and the axillary temperature is higher than 37.3, which is called fever. In most cases, fever is caused by infectious factors, such as virus infection or bacterial infection. Cooling is only a temporary solution, not a permanent cure. If fever is repeated, you must go to the hospital to find the cause of fever before you can treat it.
Physical cooling: If the body temperature does not exceed 38.5 during fever, it is not recommended to use antipyretic drugs clinically, but to choose physical cooling. The following measures can be taken to transfer the patient to a well-ventilated low-temperature environment and get rid of the high-temperature environment; Properly remove clothes; Replenish a lot of water and choose sports drinks containing electrolytes; Warm water is used to wipe the forehead, armpit, groin and other places with rich blood vessels.
Drug cooling: If the body temperature is higher than 38.5, ibuprofen, naproxen, acetaminophen and other drugs can be used, or anal administration, such as indomethacin suppository or compound antipyretic suppository. The above drugs are recommended to be used under the guidance of professional doctors or licensed pharmacists.
Special reminder: drug antipyretic must be based on supplementing enough water. If you just take antipyretic drugs blindly, your body temperature will rise again after a slight drop. Go to the hospital as soon as possible to find out the cause and deal with it; Autoimmune system or tumor diseases can also cause fever. It is recommended to go to the rheumatology immunology department or oncology department of a regular hospital to tell the doctor the past medical history truthfully and actively. If the cause is not clear, hormone should not be used to reduce fever, otherwise it will often cover up the disease, which may aggravate the infection and delay the treatment of the disease.
