Contraindications to Citalopram Hydrobromide Tablets

1. This product is contraindicated in persons who are hypersensitive to the active ingredient(s) and/or any of the excipients in this product.2. Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)This product should not be given concomitantly to patients treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), including selegiline at doses greater than 10 mg per day, for a period of 14 days after discontinuation of an irreversible MAOI, or during a reversible MAOI (RIMA ) prescribed for a defined period of time following RIMA discontinuation should not be given this product. MAOIs should not be given during the 14-day period following discontinuation of this product.3. Combination with linezolid is contraindicated unless a device for close observation and monitoring of blood pressure is present, as detailed in the Drug Interactions section.4. Combination with pimozide is contraindicated, as detailed in the Drug Interactions section.5. It is contraindicated in patients with known prolongation of the QT interval or congenital QT syndrome.
