Oil leaf pepper produced in western Sichuan (Tianquan, Eshan and other places), altitude 2000-2500 meters in the mountain sparse forest. Leaflets have naked eye visible oil spots, oil spots dry slightly raised, leaf axis, fruit sequence and fruiting petals dry reddish brown. Fruiting period July-August. Leaflets abaxially glabrous except for tufts of hairs on both sides of the base of the midvein, and leaflets without oil dots except for those on the leaf margin. Newborn shoots, leaf and inflorescence rachises, and both leaflet blades are pilose, and sometimes fruiting pedicels and the ventral surface of leaflets are glabrous. This variety is divided into two types, one type of leaflets is thinly papery, the two colors are obviously different after drying, the back of the leaf is grayish white, and the fruiting peduncle is slender and prolonged; the other type of leaflets is thickly papery, the leaf surface and fruiting peduncle are glabrous, the lateral veins are concave at the surface of the leaf in the form of a finely cleft groove, the two surfaces of the leaflets are almost of the same color, and the drying surface of the leaflets is reddish brown, and the fruiting peduncle is thicker. Flowering in May-June, fruiting in October-November.

Hairy leaf pepper produced in Qinghai (Methodist), Gansu, southern Shaanxi, western Sichuan and northwestern (Li County, Heishui, Mao County, Baoxing County). Seen at an altitude of 2500-3200 meters above sea level in the mountains.
