Basium chrysanthemum is the collective name for several flowers that look like daisies. Common basil, also called Paris daisy, wood chrysanthemum, chrysanthemum, margarita, maiden flower, French daisy, ox-eye daisy, has scattered leaves and light yellow or white flowers. Flower heads are about 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter.
It is the national flower of Denmark and is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Asteraceae family.
