The animation Violet Evegarden is adapted from the light novel of the same name originally written by Japanese novelist Hiyoshi Kana.

On May 27, 2016, the decision to animate Violet Evegarden for TV was announced within the official Kyoto Animation website. The TV anime premiered on January 10, 2018 with all 13 episodes.

Violet Eternal Garden Plot

The war that divided the continent between the north and the south is over, and the world is gradually moving towards peace.

Violet Evegarden, who fought in the war and as a soldier, left the army and came to the great port city. Embracing the battlefield a certain word was told to her by someone who meant more to her than anyone else-.

The streets were crowded with people, streetcars weaving along the road lined with gas lamps. Violet worked as a "letter writer" for Lt. Col. Hawkins' company. It was a job of organizing the language according to the client's ideas.

She confronts her clients and touches their deep, honest feelings. At the same time, as Violet recorded her letters, she came closer to the true meaning of the words Major Kilbert had spoken to her that day.
