"It's like honey", formerly known as "honey mutton", is a famous halal beet originating from the Qing Dynasty. It is said that the Empress Dowager Cixi liked the sweet taste and asked for the name of the dish. The eunuch who served the dish pretended not to know and asked Lafayette to name it. Empress Dowager Cixi said casually: It looks like honey! So people call it "it looks like honey". There is also a version dating back to the Qianlong Dynasty. When Xiang Fei entered the palace, she brought some chefs from her hometown in Xinjiang. Xinjiang dishes such as "It's Like Honey" were appreciated and named by Emperor Qianlong. They were later spread to private restaurants and became special dishes loved by the Hui Han people.
