Guiping, alias Xunzhou, is located in the southeast of Guangxi. Guiping County was founded in 52, the first year of Liang Tianjian in the Southern Dynasties. From Nanliang to the end of Qing Dynasty, Guiping County has been the seat of Xunzhou county, state, road and government. In May 1994, the county was withdrawn and the city was established. In October, 1996, Guiping City was transferred to Guigang City.
