Shaxian District Museum was built in 1988. It is a comprehensive museum integrating the collection of cultural relics, display, investigation and research of outstanding folk cultural heritage, and publicity and education.
There are nearly 1,000 cultural relics and specimens in the collection, including more than 400 precious cultural relics.
The main exhibits include stoneware and pottery from the Bronze Age unearthed in the territory, pottery and porcelain from the Tang to Qing Dynasties, especially those from the Song Dynasty.
?The museum was originally located in Shayang Paradise, covering an area of ??about 1,000 square meters, with an exhibition hall area of ??only 700 square meters and more than 100 cultural relics. The entire condition was very simple.
According to Lin Jianqi, director of the museum, the facilities in the old museum were poor. At that time, only some exhibits that had little impact on the environment could be displayed, and the rest of the exhibits had to be piled in the warehouse. Many precious cultural relics and historical and cultural materials faced the dilemma of inadequate protection or even damage.
?At that time, the museum held an exhibition of gold and silverware, and I provided several pieces of jadeite exhibits. However, after only a few days of display, they were too humid and the jadeite hair became moldy, so I quickly took them back.
When talking about the poor conditions of the old museum, Jiang Jianfei, president of the Shaxian District Collection Association, was deeply touched. "Because of the poor conditions, exhibitions could only be held in the form of pictures, and people were not at ease about displaying the collections."
? At the end of 2020, with the strong support of the local party committee and government, the museum moved to Ningcui Pavilion in Qifeng Pincui Scenic Area, a new internet celebrity check-in place. The new museum is equipped with constant temperature and humidity machines and more than 300 square meters of dedicated warehouses to ensure
The cultural relics are well preserved in an appropriate environment; a special exchange exhibition hall is reserved, completely changing the embarrassing situation of removing existing cultural relics and re-arranging them for exhibitions in the past; the overall area has been expanded to 4,000 square meters, and the number of cultural relics has increased from the original more than a hundred pieces
To more than 400 pieces, the complete history of Shaxian County since the Eastern Jin Dynasty has been realized. The good facilities and conditions have given many precious cultural relics a new home.
?The new museum has such good conditions. It not only displays more cultural relics, but also provides more opportunities for everyone to communicate.
The museum is the "soul living room" of a city. It condenses the city's civilization history. It not only allows local people to understand the history of Shaxian County, but also provides a window for people coming from afar to understand the city.
?Lin Jianqi said.
