1. Yuelu Academy
Yuelu Academy is one of the four famous academies in Chinese history. It is located at the foot of Yuelu Mountain on the west bank of the Xiangjiang River in Changsha, Hunan, a famous historical and cultural city in China. It is one of the world's most famous academies. It is one of the oldest universities in the world, and its ancient and traditional academy buildings have been completely preserved to this day.
Every group of courtyards, every stone tablet, every brick and tile, and every wind lotus shines with the humanistic spirit tempered by time. In 1988, the Yuelu Academy building complex was approved by the State Council as the third batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
Yuelu Academy has gone through thousands of years of continuous singing and continuous learning. In the ninth year of Kaibao's reign in the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 976), Zhu Dong, the prefect of Tanzhou, officially founded Yuelu Academy on the basis of the school run by monks and donations from the government.
In the eighth year of Xiangfu in the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 1015), Emperor Zhenzong of the Song Dynasty summoned Changzhou Shi of Yuelu Mountain and gave him the four-character inscription "Yuelu Academy" on his forehead. Later, through the Southern Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, until the end of the Qing Dynasty in the 29th year of Guangxu (AD 1903), Yuelu Academy merged with Hunan Provincial University Hall and was restructured into Hunan College of Higher Education, using the old site of the academy.
In the 15th year of the Republic of China (AD 1926), Hunan College of Higher Education was officially named Hunan University, and the college base has been expanded to this day.
2. Tianxin Pavilion
Tianxin Pavilion is located in the southeast corner of the central area of ??Changsha, Hunan Province, on the ancient city wall at the intersection of Chengnan Road and Tianxin Road. It is a tower in the ancient city of Changsha. .
Tianxin Pavilion has three floors of pavilions, with a construction area of ??846 square meters, green tiles and cornices, and Zhuliang painted pillars.
Tianxin Pavilion was built in the late Ming Dynasty and was rebuilt during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. During the Anti-Japanese War, it was destroyed by the Wenxi Fire and Tianxin Pavilion was rebuilt in 1983.
3. Jia Yi’s former residence
Jia Yi’s former residence is now located on Taiping Street (the intersection of Jiefang West Road and Taiping Street), Changsha City, Hunan Province.
Jia Yi’s former residence was built during the reign of Emperor Wen of the Western Han Dynasty. It was the residence of Jia Yi, Prince Taifu of Changsha. From 177 BC to 174 BC, Jia Yi, a famous political commentator, thinker and writer of the Western Han Dynasty, lived here and was the Prince of Changsha at that time.
4. Kaifu Temple
Kaifu Temple is located in Beixinhe, Changsha City, Hunan Province, near the Xiangjiang River. The main building faces north and south. It is a temple of the Yangqi sect of the Linji Sect of Zen Buddhism. . ?
Kaifu Temple was first built in the Five Dynasties period, and then passed through the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. It covers an area of ??48,000 square meters and has a construction area of ??16,000 square meters. It has three Buddhist halls, namely the Three Holy Temples (Maitreya Hall), the Great Buddha Hall (Main Buddha Hall) and Pilu Hall. 5. Lushan Temple
Lushan Temple, also known as Huiguang Temple and Wanshou Temple, is located on the hillside of Yuelu Mountain on the west bank of the Xiangjiang River in Changsha City, Hunan Province. It is protected by the disciple Li Dharma of Dunhuang Bodhisattva Li Dharma. Founded in the fourth year of Taishi (268 AD) by Emperor Wu of the Western Jin Dynasty, Chongqing has a history of more than 1,700 years. It is the earliest relic of Buddhism entering Hunan. It is now a key cultural relic protection unit in Hunan Province and the residence of the Hunan Buddhist Association.
