Hangzhou is a famous cultural city with a history of thousands of years and a city of gourmet food.
Hangzhou cuisine is the representative of Jiangsu and Zhejiang cuisine. It is characterized by lightness, freshness, tenderness, tenderness and fragrance. It has the reputation of "the land of fish and rice".
Hangzhou has a wide variety of delicacies, including West Lake vinegar fish, Longjing shrimp, Dongpo pork, beggar's chicken, West Lake water shield soup, etc., all of which are mouth-watering delicacies.
However, with the development of urbanization, Hangzhou's cuisine also faces some challenges.
On the one hand, Hangzhou's population growth and rising consumption levels have led to an imbalance in the supply and demand of gourmet food.
Many traditional gourmet shops have closed or transformed due to high rents, high costs, and lack of manpower, making it difficult to taste some classic delicacies.
On the other hand, Hangzhou’s cuisine also lacks innovation and diversity.
Many delicacies follow centuries-old practices and tastes, without any improvements or innovations following changes in times and consumers.
This has created a "food desert" phenomenon, that is, although there are many delicious foods in Hangzhou, they are all the same, without new ideas and characteristics.
In order to get rid of this "food desert" predicament, the Hangzhou Municipal Government recently launched a bold move, offering a reward of 1 million to anyone who can come up with an innovative plan for Hangzhou's food.
This plan requires the combination of Hangzhou's regional characteristics, cultural heritage, ecological environment and other factors to propose Hangzhou food innovation projects that can attract consumers, increase competitiveness, and enhance brand influence.
This project can be an improvement or innovation of a traditional cuisine, or it can be the development of a new cuisine category or format.
I think this is a very good opportunity and a very challenging task.
I thought about it and I think Hangzhou can launch the following Hangzhou food innovation projects: 1. West Lake Fruit Tea: Using the rich fruit resources around the West Lake to create a refreshing thirst-quenching, health-enhancing, vitamin- and antioxidant-rich tea
fruit tea.
This kind of fruit tea can be matched according to the season and fruit type. For example, in spring, you can use strawberries, cherries, peaches, etc.; in summer, you can use watermelon, grapes, lemons, etc.; in autumn, you can use apples, pears, persimmons, etc.; in winter, you can use oranges, grapefruits.
, pomegranate, etc.
This fruit tea can be enjoyed not only as a drink, but also as a dessert or afternoon tea snack.
2. Longjing shrimp pancake: Saute Longjing tea leaves and shrimp together until fragrant, then mix well into the batter to make pancakes.
This kind of pancake has the aroma of tea and the freshness and sweetness of shrimp. It is a nutritious and delicious breakfast or snack.
The pancakes can be served with sauce or dipped in water, or rolled and cut into bite-size pieces for easy portability and sharing.
3. Hangzhou steamed buns: Make fillings from Hangzhou’s characteristic dishes, such as Dongpo pork, West Lake vinegar fish, beggar’s chicken, etc., wrap them in dough, steam them and eat them.
This kind of buns can not only retain the original flavor of the dishes, but also increase the taste and nutrition of the buns.
This kind of bun can be used as a staple food or snack, suitable for various occasions and people.
4. Hangzhou Zongzi: Hangzhou’s famous products, such as ham, dried bamboo shoots, osmanthus, etc., are wrapped in Zongzi leaves with glutinous rice, red beans, etc., steamed and eaten.
This kind of rice dumplings has both salty and sweet flavors and is a traditional festival food.
This kind of rice dumplings can be eaten alone, or can be added with sugar, honey, etc. to increase the flavor.
The above are several Hangzhou food innovation projects that I thought of. I hope you all like them.
