Precautions for verapamil hydrochloride tablets
Warning: Use this product with caution in the following conditions and require close medical monitoring: 1. First-degree atrioventricular block 2. Hypotension (systolic blood pressure lower than 90mmHg) 3. Bradycardia (heart rate less than 50 beats per minute) 4. Severe liver dysfunction (see dosage section) liver function should be monitored regularly 5. Ventricular tachycardia with QRS widening (>00.12 seconds) 6. Progressive muscular dystrophy Other considerations: 1. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: 120 patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (most of which were ineffective or Intolerance), multiple serious adverse reactions occurred when receiving verapamil treatment at a dose of 720 mg/day. Three patients died of pulmonary edema, eight developed pulmonary edema and/or severe hypotension, the incidence of sinus bradycardia was 11%, the incidence of second-degree atrioventricular block was 4%, and the incidence of sinus arrest was 2 %, the mortality rate increased significantly. Adverse reactions are reduced after leg reduction. 2. Patients with weakened neuromuscular conduction: Verapamil has been reported to weaken neuromuscular conduction and prolong the effect of the neuromuscular blocking drug vecuronium in patients with Duchenne’s muscular dystrophy. The dose of verapamil should be reduced in patients with reduced neuromuscular transmission. 3. Renal Impairment: Use verapamil with caution in patients with renal impairment. Observe closely for prolonged PR interval or other symptoms of drug overdose. Verapamil is not removed by hemodialysis. 4. Serum calcium: Verapamil does not change serum calcium concentration, but there are reports that blood calcium levels higher than the normal range may affect the efficacy of verapamil. 5. Effects on the ability to drive and operate machinery: Due to differences in individual sensitivity, the use of verapamil hydrochloride may affect the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery, which in severe cases may put the patient at risk at work. This is more likely to occur at the beginning of treatment, when increasing the dose, changing from other medications, or when taking with alcohol. Special attention should be paid. 6. Patients taking this product should have their blood pressure checked regularly.
