Introduction to the "Grand Canal Event" of Wuxi Museum's "Walking" series of study tours:
This study tour selected Zhenjiang, Yangzhou and Huai 'an as the travel destinations, first of all, we learned about the trend of the Grand Canal from the perspective of moisture, and learned about the intersection of the Grand Canal with the waters of Huaihe River and Yangtze River. Through the field visits to several important cultural sites, such as Xijindu, China Grand Canal Museum and Li Canal Cultural Corridor, we can deeply experience the humanistic connotation of the Grand Canal.

Wenbo classroom: binding method-learning experience of ancient books binding
Activity introduction:
Before the invention of printing, Books in this period can only be packed in scrolls. After the popularity of block printing, because the books were divided into blocks, scroll binding was no longer applicable, and the binding of ancient books was improved to album form, and several forms appeared successively, such as cyclone binding, warp folding, Bao Beizhuang and thread binding, and the form of thread binding has been used to this day. This course will introduce students to the different binding methods of traditional ancient books in different times, and lead students to experience the binding process of ancient books by thread binding.

Activity 1: movable type ink spectrum
Printing is one of the four great inventions in China, and it is a pioneering work in human history. This course deeply understands the history and culture of Wuxi and feels the charm of traditional culture by rubbing poems.
Activity 2: "Shaping" Wuxi
Huishan clay figurine was selected into the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list in 2116, which is a veritable symbol of Wuxi traditional culture and an outstanding representative of China traditional handicrafts. Based on the sense of responsibility for inheriting traditional culture and history, developing regional culture and art, and promoting excellent folk art, this activity introduces the origin of clay sculpture, the raw materials, painting characteristics and production process of Huishan clay figurine, relying on the permanent exhibition "Elegant Clay Sculpture-Huishan Clay Fighter" in the hospital, so that more teenagers can understand the artistic creation of clay figurine and truly understand the essence of traditional culture.
Activity 3: The porcelain clay glows
Selecting materials, making blanks, drying, decorating, glazing and entering the kiln. The craftsmen in ancient times used a pair of skillful hands to give new life to the clay, so as to shape, decorate and glaze it. The unpretentious soil is remolded by powder, reborn by fire, and turned into porcelain as a carrier, from royal to folk, from east to west. One craftsman after another, whose names have never been recorded in history books, has captured the aesthetics of the times and produced various kinds of porcelain with exquisite skills, leaving us a valuable cultural wealth for later generations. This course will lead young students to experience the charm of ceramic art from many angles, such as kneading, molding and painting.
