1. Xitang Small Wontons. I believe that everyone who travels to Xitang eats small wontons. The most famous one is Lu’s Small Wontons, but I think the taste is just that. It costs 5 yuan a bowl and the price is not high.
Cheap.
You can eat whatever you want, and it doesn't matter if you don't.
2. Xitang Tofu Pudding, one of the famous snacks in Xitang.
There is a stall of Qian's Tofu Pudding next to Yongning Bridge. The taste is not bad, and it costs 4 yuan a bowl, but it is a bit expensive.
3. The old lady's stinky tofu is quite delicious. It costs 5 yuan a box and seems to have 8 pieces of stinky tofu.
4. Steamed pork with vermicelli, one of the most unpalatable snacks in Xitang. Some friends may think that I am not late for the authentic version, but I can tell you responsibly that I have eaten 4 brands and they all taste the same.
Very unpalatable.
All are glutinous rice.
A little bit of pork, and even more exaggeratedly, there was tenderloin in it. What a tragedy, the price is 4-6 yuan a piece.
Not recommended for everyone to taste.
Whoever eats it will regret it.
5. Five-spice braised pork actually tastes similar to braised pork, but a bit saltier.
It’s okay to eat whatever you want.
3 yuan a piece.
6. Duck liver, sold in many small shops, tastes good.
It just looks very unhygienic.
Oily and dark, they cost 3 yuan a bunch.
2 duck livers.
7. Smoked green beans, this is very delicious and fragrant, I plan to buy more to take home to eat, haha.
There are two kinds of packaging, one is 8 yuan, and the other is 10 yuan.
Every store seems to have the same taste, because it’s so busy.
Try it one family at a time.
8. Kohlrabi, I don’t like this, it tastes too weird, it costs 10 yuan a bag.
The weight is ominous.
9. Qianshi cake seems to be a famous pastry in Xitang. It tastes okay, glutinous and sweet.
They cost 10 yuan each and are quite heavy.
This recommended forest brand is not very good.
It is said to be the most authentic one in Xitang.
10. The best noodles in the world, the taste is average.
And the price is a bit expensive, which doesn’t feel like a good deal.
A bowl of noodles costs more than ten yuan.
I'd rather grab a side dish for dinner.
11. Maltose, I don’t like eating sugar, but students who like sweets can try it themselves.
The price is also cheap, 3 yuan a piece.
After talking about snacks, we started talking about the dishes in the restaurant.
First of all, let me explain that I stayed in Xitang for 6 days and ate at 5 restaurants, all of which are relatively famous online.
People in Qiantang send their children to the Moon Tower, recalling Jiangnan, old and fragrant, and loud in the hall.
1. For fried screws in soy sauce, I recommend the screws from Yijiangnan and Sendzi Deyuelou. The quantity is relatively large, and you can tell they are fresh and tender as soon as you eat them.
The main reason is that the price is super cheap. Both families buy a pot for 5 yuan.
2. Stir-fried green vegetables, from Deyuelou, Yijiangnan, 5 yuan. 3. Sweet and sour pork ribs, only the one from Lao Pinfang, 10 yuan a bowl, but I counted, 11 pieces of ribs, an average of 1 yuan
It costs only one dollar, mainly because there is no meat.
It's all bones.
Other hotels basically charge 20-25 yuan, which is too expensive.
Didn’t eat any of them. 4. Roast pork with dried plums and vegetables. I definitely have to eat this one from Yijiangnan. It costs 20 yuan for a large bowl. It’s all meat. It tastes very good. I like it very much.
5. Saltwater river shrimp, this is really expensive, basically around 30.
I only ate it once at Lao Pinfang. The taste was average, no different from shrimps. It wasn’t very cost-effective. It’s better to let rich people eat it.
6. Steamed white water fish, Laopinfang, Yijiangnan, and Sendzi Deyuelou are all priced at 28 yuan. Relatively speaking, Yijiangnan’s is the most delicious, very tender and super fresh.
The white water fish at Sendizi Deyuelou is larger and very good. This dish is highly recommended.
7. For shredded eel, I recommend the one from Lao Pinfang. It’s cheap, only 20 yuan, because I’ve only tried it from Lao Pinfang.
Not easy to compare. 8. Edamame and water chestnuts are the cheapest in Yijiangnan at 15 yuan. They taste good. The water chestnuts are very delicious. I have never eaten them before.
9. The fish next to the salt and pepper is actually a small fish, the kind that cats eat at home, fried in oil, and tastes good. Yijiangnan sells it for 18 yuan, which seems to be the cheapest.
10. The old duck wonton stew must be from Lao Pinfang. It only costs 15 yuan, which is a great price. It’s so cheap. I recommend it.
11. Braised king fish, the one from Sendi De Yue Lou is the best. I forgot the price, sorry.
12. Oil and salt crab (June red), this dish is the most delicious in Yijiangnan. It is very fresh, but it is a bit expensive. 2 crabs cost 30 yuan.
My heart aches after eating it.
13. Steamed stinky tofu, Lao Pinfang’s is the cheapest at 5 yuan. It tastes good and is affordable.
14. Chanyi Baoyuan seems to be about the same price. I had the one from Sendi Deyuelou. It tasted good and was very light.
15. The Shrimp Fairy Tofu, which is served to Yue Lou as a gift. It includes shrimps, green vegetables, black fungus, and Chiba Tofu. It is very fragrant and fresh, and the rice is as old as the rice.
16. Sauce duck. Jiaxing Wenhu sauce duck is very famous. I ate it when I came to Xitang. I recommend Yijiangnan’s signature sauce duck. It is very delicious and fragrant.
