Geology 1

The prototype of geological structure in Wulong area was formed in the second act of Yanshan Mountain, which belongs to the Neocathaysian and north-south radial structural system and belongs to the north-south structural belt of Sichuan and Guizhou. Jiangkou and other areas belong to the fold belt of Sichuan, Hubei, Hunan and Guizhou uplift, and the fold structure forms a series of anticlines and synclines. The main structures in the north-south direction are Jielongchang anticline, Gantianwan syncline, Daershan anticline, Yang Jiao anticline, Sanhui anticline and Chepan syncline. The exposed strata in the core of the anticline are mostly Permian and Triassic, of which the Jielongchang anticline is mostly Cambrian.

2. Terrain

Wulong district belongs to the fold belt of Daloushan Mountain range on the southeast edge of Chongqing, with many deep mountains and canyons, mainly mountainous areas. The terrain is high in the northeast and low in the southwest. Dongshanjing, baimashan and Danzishan in the territory are arranged approximately in parallel from north to south, and are divided into Tongzi, Mugen, Shuanghe, Iron Mine and Baiyun Highland. Because the Loushan fold anticline is wide and open, it is composed of CAMBRIAN limestone and was deeply dissolved in the geological process. Wujiang River runs through the whole territory from east to west and from the middle.
