Fuyang Festival begins on the first day of the lunar calendar every year and ends on the last day, lasting for one month. "Eating sheep in dog days" has a long history in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, which can be traced back to the Yao and Shun period. Since ancient times, Xuzhou folks have said that "a bowl of mutton soup does not seek medical treatment."
During the Fuyang Food Festival, the opening ceremony of Fuyang Festival was held in Shanghai, Xuzhou, Xiaoxian and other places. Every day, local dramas, dances, martial arts and folk customs are staged, and fabrics, dough sculptures, paper-cuts and exotic flowers and birds are exhibited.
