Wenlou soup dumplings are named after Wenlou, an ancient town in Huai'an.

The Wen Tower was built in the eighth year of Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1828). It is located under the river in the ancient town on the east side of the canal, across the water from the Quxiang Tower in Xiaohu Lake.

When you climb up to the Wen Building, you can admire the lake and water, and you will immediately feel its elegance and joy. It is often a gathering place for literati and scholars, so it is named "Wen Building".
