Liu Xiaoqiao shui renjia
Walking into Feng Jian Village, but seeing the afterglow of the winter sunset reflecting red patches of mulberry fish ponds, criss-crossing waterways, swaying leaves and boats in the village, as well as plantain forests along the river and bluestone roads leading to country roads, people seem to be in a paradise far away from the noise.
There are more than 30 bridges in the village, the most precious of which are the two stone bridges left over from the Song Dynasty-Mingyuan Bridge and Juji Bridge. Mingyuan Bridge is the earliest three-hole stone arch bridge in Shunde existing literature, and the ramp on the deck is not masonry. Juji Bridge is exquisite in workmanship and has carved stone fences on it.
Interestingly, on the bluestone of the bridge, there is a stone carving that says, "West of the bridge, it is forbidden to sell sundries, hinder traffic and impose heavy penalties." These handwriting were handed down from the Qing Dynasty. There is another red stone bridge at the entrance of the village, named "Jin Ao Bridge". It is said that it was built by Emperor Kangxi, and the whole bridge is made of red stone.
In order to keep the rural scenery from being eroded, the village set up an industrial zone in the new area, which continued the traditional farming model of the ancient town of water town. Nowadays, the good natural ecological environment makes the canal as clear as ever, and the long-lost fish and shrimp jumping landscape of urbanites can still be found here.
Citang Dawu private school
The ancestral temples and private schools that exude the fragrance of books contain the long-standing cultural heritage of Feng Jian Village. According to records, as early as the Tang Dynasty, villages were built in Feng Jian Village. According to the genealogy of the villagers, this small village has produced many scholars and juren. Up to now, the story of eight scholars in a villager's family is still circulating.
Because there are many people who study and get rich, there are many ancestral halls, private schools and ancient houses left by Feng Jian Village in Xingtan. There are more than 70 ancestral halls in the village, most of which are Ming-style. Not long ago, a Liu ancestral hall with a history of more than 600 years was restored in the village.
Walking in the ancestral hall, several children are playing in the yard paved with granite. Two egg-blossom trees with a history of more than 50 years exude a long fragrance. The sun shines quietly on the corridor, and the carved wooden beams and flower windows tell ancient legends.
Sangji Yutang Shuizhen
In the criss-crossing rivers, small fish wander in groups. The floating lotus is like jasper, and the traces of Sangji fish pond still exist today. It's just that there are more bean sheds, melon racks, vegetable fields and banana forests, and a few butterflies fly in from time to time, which adds to the leisure and ancient meaning.
Many tourists don't know that it is these small rivers winding in mulberry fields that once transported silk boats to Guangzhou and other places, and businessmen from all over the province also came by boat from these small rivers to purchase silk. In Qing Dynasty, villagers in Feng Jian village abandoned fields to build ponds, planted mulberry and raised silkworms, and dozens of silk mills worked around the clock, which made great contributions to Shunde becoming the "Silk Capital of South China". It is said that the silk weaving industry was very prosperous at that time, and the villagers planted mulberry and sericulture.
