In fact, my relationship with Tangchang Ancient Town was not specifically for visiting, but because I went to eat a green pepper fish restaurant. The restaurant is only 3 kilometers away from the ancient town.

So this self-driving trip starts with eating delicious food.

My aunt was looking for a place and said she would take us to this fish farm to check in. The green pepper fish was very delicious and the business was booming. If you didn’t book in advance, you couldn’t get a seat. Her friends all went to eat. Several dishes.

Ma Xiaodu Green Pepper Fish Main Store is located next to Pengwen Road, Ande Town, Pidu District. From where you live, take the East Third Ring Road, the Ring Expressway, and the Chengdu-Guan Expressway. The total distance is about 65 kilometers and takes more than an hour. arrive.

Because I left late, it was already 12:30 when I arrived at the restaurant. Walking into the restaurant felt like walking into a suburban park, with bright flowers and green grass. The environment alone conquered us.

The restaurant is not small. There are three or four areas inside and outside for diners to dine. There may be dozens or hundreds of tables in the room and in the open air. It is the peak period at this time and the seats are full.

The scenery along this 3-kilometer journey is good. There are gardens on both sides of the road. Flowers of various colors are blooming, decorating the beautiful countryside.

The navigation took us to a street. This should be a business district with many shops, but it seemed that the market had ended. There were not many people left. There were only some vendors selling pork holding on to their stalls. , taking a nap while waiting for customers.

There were not many people around, so I parked my car on a random street and started looking for the location of the ancient town. As a result, I wandered around for a long time without finding the entrance to the ancient town. I finally found the Tangchang Confucian Temple first.

Tangchang Confucian Temple was originally the ancient Chongning County Confucian Temple. It was rebuilt in the 28th year of Guangxu's reign in the late Qing Dynasty. It is located in the middle school of Tangchang Town, Pixian County. Now only the main hall, Panchi and Panqiao remain.

Entering the back door of the Confucian Temple from the square, a cleaning worker was weeding, and the roar of the machine broke the tranquility.

The Dacheng Hall in the Confucian Temple has a construction area of ??408 square meters and is the largest remaining ancient wooden structure in Pixian County. The roof of the hall is in the style of a mountain with double eaves, glazed tiles, and more complex carvings and other decorations on the ridge. It uses large materials and is majestic.

There are two buildings on the east and west verandahs at the lower end of the main hall. There is an archway called Lingxing Gate directly in front, which is also extraordinary.

Next to the Lingxing Gate is the half-moon-shaped Panchi, with three bridges on it. It is a masonry structure and runs north-south opposite the main hall. The three bridges are each 18.9 meters long, the middle bridge is 2.5 meters wide, and the bridges on both sides are 2.2 meters wide. Each bridge has three arches and spans the middle of Panchi, which is relatively complete.

There are very few tourists visiting the Confucian Temple. Most of them enter by mistake while looking for the ancient town. But Tangchang Confucian Temple is also worth visiting. It was once the office of Zhu Yuesui, the grandson of Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang and King of Chongning. It was also the site of Chongning County Girls’ Primary School and Tangchang Town Middle School.

Across the street from the front door of the Confucian Temple is the location of Tangchang Ancient Town. It is difficult to find because the "content" of the ancient town is wrapped up.

This is an ordinary township street. Entering from the roadside alley, an ancient town with 1,300 years of history appears in front of you.

The ancient town is composed of four streets, southeast, northwest, and each street is connected by several alleys. More than 1,200 households are scattered in this area of ??more than 30 square kilometers. Of course, wealth and poverty in these houses can still be distinguished by sight.

We walked into the ancient town from Dachun Lane. The alley is indeed very narrow, but the antique residential courtyards are really unique. Although they have been repaired, the original style is well preserved.

Xiao Mansion is at the front of the alley.

The building was built in the late Qing Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty. The original size is 1,350 square meters. It belongs to the residential style of western Sichuan and emphasizes the "harmony between man and nature" of nature and environment. The layout of the courtyard is its main structure. The architectural shape is light and delicate, and the carvings are gorgeous.

Of course, this exterior wall is the result of renovation and decoration, which is very artistic.

The Liang Family Courtyard on the back alley was built in the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty. It has a total area of ??more than 4,000 square meters, with 97 houses, six courtyards and five patios. Each courtyard is different. It is the largest, most complete and most valuable ancient building complex in Tangchang Town, and has extremely high ornamental value.

There are forty or fifty mansions of this size in the ancient town. We are still surprised that they are concentrated in such a small town.

Walking with the elderly and children in this deep alley, it feels like stepping into the annual cycle of history. The bricks and tiles, the trees and flowers in the courtyard, and the low bare strips under the eaves The benches all tell us about the vicissitudes of life in the residential complex.

Although there are many households there, many are closed. Maybe they are afraid that tourists will disturb their lives. After all, the ancient town is open and there are many people coming and going to watch. I may also do it. Feeling tired.

We didn’t finish visiting the ancient town. Firstly, it was too big, and secondly, our little granddaughter was clamoring to leave. So we walked out of the ancient town through Bubu Lane.

Later I learned that Chongning Park and Tangchang Confucian Temple are both components of Tangchang Ancient Town. We did not know the situation and separated them abruptly, which is both funny and funny.
