As of 2015, Huzhou City governs two municipal districts: Wuxing and Nanxun, and three counties: Changxing, Deqing, and Anji.
Huzhou City is located in the northern part of Zhejiang Province, bordering Jiaxing to the east, Hangzhou to the south, Tianmu Mountain to the west, and Taihu Lake to the north. It faces Wuxi and Suzhou across the lake. It is the only city in the Taihu Lake area named after the lake.
It is located on the south bank of Taihu Lake, at the confluence of Dongtiao River and Xitiao River.
It consists of two districts: Wuxing District and Nanxun District, and governs three counties: Changxing County, Anji County, and Deqing County.
Huzhou is an ancient city in the south of the Yangtze River with a history of more than 2,300 years. Its establishment began in the Warring States Period. It has beautiful natural landscapes and many historical and cultural landscapes.
Since ancient times, it has been known as the home of silk, a land of fish and rice, a land of culture, and is also known as the Pearl of South Taihu Lake.
