The method of making zongzi is as follows: firstly, treat zongzi rope, cook and wash zongzi leaves and zongzi shreds, then cut off both ends of zongzi leaves, tear zongzi shreds into appropriate length and thickness, then wash glutinous rice to make it swell and add plain oil, then start to wrap zongzi, take the smooth side of zongzi leaves, fold it into a funnel shape and put it into glutinous rice until the funnel is full, and finally fold the remaining zongzi leaves and tie it with zongzi rope. Put all the zongzi into a pressure cooker, the height should not exceed two thirds, add clear water, cover and cook until the height of zongzi is flat, and turn off the heat for about an hour, depending on the size of zongzi. Cooked zongzi can be eaten without cover until it is naturally deflated and can be frozen after cooling.
