I have been in Chuzhou for almost two years. Although I am not a gourmet, I really have a soft spot for Chuzhou's food. As a foreigner, I really can't say anything about the characteristics of Huaiyang cuisine, but I really want to express it in my own language: Huaiyang cuisine is a kind of cuisine that makes home cooking very authentic and exquisite, and accommodates history and culture. It pays attention to knife work and fire work. I wonder if this induction is appropriate? Please also ask local gourmets in Huai 'an to correct me. There are many hotels in Chuzhou, which can be roughly divided into several concentrated areas: 1. Near the celebrity pavilion. This is a street of pickled fish. This pickled fish is cheap and good, and the snakehead is now killed, 15 yuan/Jin. Personally, I think that Wuda Fish with Chinese sauerkraut restaurant tastes good, at least much better than Song Ji Fish with Chinese sauerkraut, and there is also a fish with Chinese sauerkraut that likes to swish. It's just that the pickled fish here is not spicy enough, which is suitable for Huai 'an locals. For friends who love to eat authentic Sichuan cuisine with pickled fish, it is indeed a legacy that needs to be added. There is a restaurant opposite the pickled fish restaurant with a very prosperous business, which is the "Wanshou Park Restaurant" mentioned by the moderator "Fast Life". The restaurant is small, and the consumption is low. The minimum 2 yuan/guest is enough. The food is exquisite and distinctive, especially the Boli mutton tastes authentic. It's best to book in advance to eat in this restaurant, because many dishes take time to prepare and cook, so you should prepare in advance. In addition, the special requirements of taste also need to be stated in advance. Xichang Street. Here are basically Huaiyang cuisine specialty shops, including Pingqiao Tofu Restaurant, Fresh Fish Pot Sticker Restaurant, Zhuqiaojia Fish Restaurant and so on. If you want to taste authentic Huaiyang cuisine, this is your first choice. As the saying goes: stay in a big hotel and eat in a snack bar. The taste of Huaiyang cuisine made by those magnificent hotels is far from that of local specialty snack bars here. Whenever friends from afar come to Chuzhou, I take them to these snack bars, because only here can we taste the delicious authentic Huaiyang cuisine! Beimen Street. This is the concentration camp of food stalls, one of the good places for friends who like to eat supper in Chuzhou. (Remarks: There is another good place for Chuzhou people to eat supper at night: Shaohu Barbecue City). The food stalls here in Beimen Street generally don't close until one or two in the middle of the night, and friends who like nightlife can come here to fill their stomachs. 4. Dongchang Street. This is the food street in Chuzhou, that is, "Dongmen Food Street", which accommodates all kinds of restaurants with various cuisines: Huaiyang Cuisine Specialty Shop, Hunan Restaurant, Roasted Chicken, Hot Pot and so on. Every night, it is brightly lit and lively here! One of the shops I often go to is the "Chuzhou Old Store", which is antique in layout, as well as the sorghum liquor in that altar. I am greedy after reading it, hehe. East side of Caoyun Square. In an alley, you don't have to walk in, and the smell of barbecue comes to your nose. By the way, this is the most popular "barbecue city" in Chuzhou! Most of the people who come here during the day are women and children, who come here to eat snacks; All the people who come here at night are big men. Chuzhou men who can drink have a habit of eating "two rounds of wine". The so-called "two rounds of wine" means that after dinner and drinking white wine, you go to the bathhouse to take a bath or sing a song in KTV. When the alcohol is almost gone, you will invite some friends to have a midnight snack and drink beer. The place for midnight snack is usually in barbecue city or food stalls. There is a famous barbecue shop "Jinzhou Barbecue" here. The reason why I was impressed by this shop is because I sacrificed here twice, hehe! I am amazed by the eating culture in Chuzhou. Every weekend, when I walk down the street, every restaurant is full, and everyone is full of flowers and greetings. I am very happy that the above is my superficial understanding of Chuzhou cuisine as a foreigner. Please forgive me and give me more advice. Due to the time, there are still many specialty shops that have not been introduced, such as the century-old shop on Shiban Street in Hexia Ancient Town-Wenlou and other famous shops. There will be opportunities in the future.
