Cangpo Village was originally named Cangdun, but it was changed to Cangpo because it avoided Song Guangzong (Zhao Dun). In the second year of the fifth ancestor (1055), the population was prosperous, divided into three sections: Dongzhai, Xizhai and Maxiyuan, each with its own ancestral temple, and a large number of Li's houses were built at the entrance of the village. In the second year of Song Jianyan (1 128), Li Qiushan, the seventh ancestor, moved to Fangxiang, and had deep feelings for his brother Li Jiamu. Therefore, Wang Xiong's pavilion was built in the village, and his brother's pavilion was built in the square lane opposite the pavilion. They greeted each other. In the fifth year of Song Xiaozong's Xi Chun (1 178), the ninth ancestor asked Li Ritian, a Buddhist teacher, to discuss the village construction plan. According to the five elements of geomantic omen, a double pool was built in the east to store water, and canals were opened around it to draw streams and control fires with water. Then follow the layout of "Four Treasures of the Study". Pen Street and nib point directly to Bijia Mountain in the west. There are two pools in the village, and the east and west pools are famous inkstones. The inkstone trough was built on the edge of the inkstone, and a large stone strip was placed near the edge of the double pool, which means ink. Fangcun is like a blank sheet of paper. Its planning and layout can be described as unique and profound.
The existing Cangpo Village was designed by Song Li, the ninth ancestor in the fifth year of Xichun in the Southern Song Dynasty (1 178). It has a history of over 800 years. Although it has experienced nearly a thousand years of vicissitudes, its old appearance has not changed. It still retains the walls, roads, houses, pavilions, temples, pools and ancient cypresses built in the Song Dynasty, showing a strong ancient heritage everywhere. Cangpo village attaches great importance to cultural connotation in the concept of village layout. In recent years, the village has attracted domestic and foreign tourists with its unique cultural landscape and rich historical and cultural heritage. On the fifteenth day of the first month, every household in Cangpo village will put on a "fish lantern" to brew rice wine and perform Yong-Kun opera. Tourists will light the fish lantern and put it into the water to express their wish to make money and celebrate the festival. This is an ancient local custom. These ancient folk customs with local characteristics have become entertainment programs and windows for modern people to understand history and folk customs when they are on vacation.
There are tourist attractions near Cangpo Village, such as West Gate, Temple, West Gate, tombstone of Golden Martyrs, Archway and Sendai Archway, and ancient buildings in furong village and furong village. Specialty products include Wuniu Zaocha, three-inch tangerine, Wenzhou colored stone mosaic, Yongjia Jingzhou chestnut, Chashan Yangmei and so on.
