Han Jiang was named after Han Yu, the leader of the "Eight Masters of Tang and Song Dynasties" 13 years ago, who was demoted to this place because of his unsatisfactory career.
Hanjiang River is the only important river in Guangdong that mainly originates in the province and flows into the sea alone. Although she is not as majestic as the Yellow River and the Yangtze River, and does not cross the land of China as the Pearl River, and flows down into the South China Sea from the distant snow-capped mountains, she is the mother river of the people of eastern Guangdong. The Hakka and Chaoshan people who live on both sides of the Hanjiang River have been irrigated, nourished and blessed by her for generations, and of course, she has suffered countless times of destruction, injury and suffering from the flooding of the river.
The beauty of the Hanjiang River lies not only in her green and clear water. What is even more amazing and admirable is that the numerous cultural resources on both sides of the river, such as the former residences of celebrities, traditional crafts, folk arts, regional customs, red stories and special foods, will make you feel unforgettable that the river in front of you is a river of history and culture, a river of sages and heroes.
