Mutang Town is located in the northwest of Danzhou City. It is a large industrial and agricultural town in Danzhou City and an important economic, transportation and cultural center town in the northwest. Historical evolution
In 1932 (the 21st year of the Republic of China), it became the headquarters of the Eighth District of Dan County. In the early days of liberation, it belonged to the Fourth District of Dan County (the district office is located in Guangcun). Mutang People's Commune was established in 1957. After 1959, it was divided into Sandu and Eman Communes. At the end of 1975, it was divided into Songlin and Lanxun Communes. At the end of 1983, the commune system was abolished and changed to Mutang District. In early 1987, the district was changed to a town.
