Yunnan Shilin Scenic Area, a natural wonder, is located in Shilin Yi Autonomous County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, with a sea area of 1,5-1,9 m, which belongs to subtropical low-latitude plateau and mountain monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of about 16 degrees, warm in winter and cool in summer, 78 kilometers away from Kunming, the provincial capital, with "no severe cold in winter, no intense heat in summer and spring-like seasons".

in 1979, I went to work and travel in Shilin area of Yunnan for the first time, and stayed in a hotel in Shilin for a few days. At that time, the stone forest was simple and elegant, natural and pure, and you could enjoy yourself. Later, I went to Shilin many times. I am an oil geologist, from Kunming, and have been to many places.

Yunnan Shilin is the only karst (karst cave) landform scenic spot in the subtropical plateau area in the world. It is known as "the first wonder in the world" and "Shilin Museum". It is one of the first batch of national key scenic spots in China, China National Geopark and World Geopark, and enjoys the same fame as the Forbidden City, Terracotta Warriors and Horses in Xi 'an and Guilin Landscape.

the formation of the stone forest, when the surface water flows along the slope of soluble rock, the grooves eroded by dissolution are karst ditches, and the stone forest wonders in karst ditches, with the remaining stone ridges as stone buds and large stone buds as stone forests. The height of the stone forest is relatively high, and it is cylindrical, conical, tower-shaped, bamboo shoot-shaped, sword-shaped, mushroom-shaped and so on. The beauty is spectacular, and the shape is fantastic.

Yunnan Stone Forest is the best example of stone forest landform in the world, and it is a model area with this kind of (karst) characteristics, which is different because of its longest landform evolution history. Yunnan Stone Forest is also the best example of this kind of landform in southern China.

In Shilin, Yunnan, the main ethnic minority is Sani people, a branch of Yi people, whose houses are similar to those of Bai people in Dali. Yi people have their own characters for a long time, and their glyphs and pronunciations are similar to those of Japanese pseudonyms.

The Yi people have their own calendar, which is more than 2 years earlier than the earliest Egyptian calendar in the world. The "October solar calendar" used by the Yi people is divided into 36 days per month and 1 months per year, and the last five days are left as Chinese New Year. They mark the day with the zodiac, which belongs to the street driven by a certain zodiac, so it is called what street. Therefore, the Yunnan place names of the Yi people include niujie, Dog Street, Horse Street and Sheep Street.

Yi people are also good at singing and dancing. As a saying goes, "Those who can talk can sing folk songs, and those who can walk can dance with their left feet". When local young men and women fall in love, they look for lovers in the form of duets. Therefore, if a girl can neither dance nor sing, it means she can't get married. Whenever their traditional festivals are celebrated with songs and dances.

The Yi people are very good at drinking, and their drinking capacity is generally high. Although the Yi people are good at drinking, they mainly use rice wine, corn wine and glutinous rice wine, which are not high in degree, and they drink slowly, and it won't be a problem if they drink too much. The wine of the Yi people is served in jars, so it is called "jar wine".

The meat eaten by the Yi people is called "Tuotuo Meat", that is, the meat is cut into pieces, not sliced or chopped, and directly taken out for the elders or guests to eat. In the Yi people's concept, cutting up the meat is tantamount to cutting off feelings. Therefore, eating meat requires "big chunks" to be delicious.

The main festival of the Yi people in Shilin: Torch Festival. Every year on June 24th of the lunar calendar, there are three days of festivals, including wrestling, horse racing, bullfighting, boating and tug-of-war. There is a grand bonfire party in the evening and carnival all night! ? On the 7th day of November, it is the "Men's Day" of Sani people. Men have to sacrifice and listen to other people's criticisms, so that the virtues of Sani people can be passed down from generation to generation.

Shilin's delicious food: Tuba Bowl (with eight kinds of meat dishes), milk cake (cheese made from goat's milk), marinated rot (bean curd), cold rolled rice and pea powder, zhuangyuan cake, casserole braised rice, mutton soup pot, Yi bacon, dry mushroom, etc.
