The main materials for making Babao Zongzi are glutinous rice, pork, red bean paste, lotus seeds, peanuts, medlar, red dates, scallops and egg yolk. These materials can be bought in supermarkets or vegetable markets. Before making, it is necessary to soak glutinous rice for 4-6 hours in advance in order to taste it better.
Production steps
1. Wash and drain glutinous rice, add proper amount of salt and peanut oil and mix well for later use.
2. Cut the pork into small pieces and marinate it for about 20 minutes with proper amount of salt, soy sauce, cooking wine, onion, ginger, minced garlic, pepper and other seasonings.
3. Prepare bean paste, lotus seeds, peanuts, medlar, red dates, scallops and other ingredients for later use.
