Dragon Boat Festival is a very popular grand festival. This day is a festival for us to pray for good luck, avoid evil and live a happy life. On this day, we can't say "Happy Dragon Boat Festival", but "Ankang" means a healthy life. The word "happiness" comes from the fact that we are lucky to have you here and our family is very happy.
Why can't the Dragon Boat Festival say happiness, but well-being?
The ancients did not say "Dragon Boat Festival is healthy", but it is a tradition to wish the Dragon Boat Festival a happy one. In daily life, the word "well-being" is generally used to bless the elderly, but it is more appropriate to wish the people a happy Dragon Boat Festival regardless of gender, age and age.
Many traditional folk festivals in China are mostly related to sacrifice, such as Spring Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and Winter Solstice. The Dragon Boat Festival is given the content of sacrifice, and people can't say "happiness" to each other, which shows that people lack a basic understanding of China culture. This also narrows the form and content of the Dragon Boat Festival, which does not help the spread of the Dragon Boat Festival culture.
In the ancient Dragon Boat Festival, lively dragon boat performances and joyful food banquets were all forms of celebration.
Should we say "happiness" or "well-being" during the Dragon Boat Festival?
Dragon Boat Festival is healthy and happy. Dragon Boat Festival was originally established as a happy festival. Although the Dragon Boat Festival is a festival to commemorate Qu Yuan, Wu Zixu and other historical figures, its original meaning is to worship and bless the ancient dragon totem, and it also has the meaning of praying for the sick and making everyone happy, so we can wish "Happy Dragon Boat Festival".
However, some people say that the Dragon Boat Festival is a sacrificial festival. It is said that on this day, Wu Zixu committed suicide, Cao E saved his father and jumped into the Cao E River, and Qu Yuan also jumped into the bubbling river. In a word, the fifth day of May is a solemn and stirring day, and it is a day for future generations to sacrifice their ancestors. This is why the greetings of the Dragon Boat Festival are "Dragon Boat Festival Health" instead of "Happy Dragon Boat Festival".
About the origin of Dragon Boat Festival
The Dragon Boat Festival began in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, with a history of more than 2,000 years. Because of its long history, it is impossible to study the exact origin. There are four kinds of legends circulating in the workshop: in memory of the filial daughter Cao E, in memory of Wu Zixu, in memory of the totem sacrifice of the ancient Yue people and in memory of Qu Yuan. I prefer to commemorate Qu Yuan.
According to historical records, Qu Yuan was a minister of Chu Huaiwang in the Spring and Autumn Period. He advocated promoting talents, empowering them and making them rich, and advocated uniting against Qin, which was strongly opposed by others. Qu Yuan was forced to leave his post, was driven out of the capital and exiled to the Yuanxiang Valley. In 278 BC, the State of Qin conquered Kyoto of Chu. Seeing that his motherland was invaded, Qu Yuan threw himself into the river and died on May 5th.
After Qu Yuan's death, the local people immediately rowed for rescue and went straight to Dongting Lake, but Qu Yuan's body was never seen. A fisherman took out rice balls, eggs and other food for Qu Yuan and threw them into the river, saying that if there were enough fish, dragons, shrimps and crabs, he would not bite the doctor.
People followed suit after seeing it. An old doctor took an altar of realgar wine and poured it into the river, saying that he would use a dose of dragon water beast to avoid hurting Dr. Qu. Later, for fear that rice balls would be eaten by dragons, people came up with the idea of wrapping rice with runnan leaves and then wrapping colored silk outside to develop brown seeds.
